Although it is not endangered, the Mountain Pansy is quite rare and the hill's unusual volcanic geology and thin soil allows it to flourish on this National Nature Reserve. The flower comes in a variety of colours, the ones on Roundton being predominantly yellow and blue. Churchstoke Community Council - Cyngor Cymuned Yr Ystog

Providing a welcoming entry into Wales via the beautiful valley of the River Camlad, the community is comprised of the villages of Churchstoke, Hyssington, and White Grit, along with the smaller settlements of Mellington, Old Churchstoke, Pentre, and Snead.

The area makes a suitable base for exploring the lush, rolling Welsh border country, and the historic 'Welsh Marches'. It provides a good stopping point before venturing further into Mid-Wales.
